A lightweight bout pitting Jacob Volkmann against Luiz Firmino is scheduled to headline the preliminary card of WSOF 6, sources told MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani.
WSOF 6 takes place October 26, 2013 at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Florida. The event broadcasts live on NBS Sports Network.
After losing two of three to earn his UFC release, Volkmann (16-4) stifled Lyle Beerbohm en route to claiming a unanimous decision victory in his WSOF debut. At 33 years old, “Dr. Feelgood” is 7-2 since dropping down to the lightweight division.
Across the cage, Firmino (16-6) makes his WSOF debut on the strength of a three-fight win streak, including victories over Bellator veterans Toby Imada and Luis Palomino. The Brazilian trains out of Florida’s Blackzilian camp, and carries seven submission finishes among his 16 wins.
