Recently, reports that Jake Ellenberger was to be released from the UFC started to circulate.
However, Ellenberger tried to provide updates, posting a picture of himself online with the comment “It was a good day” and the UFC’s Twitter account attached.
“UFC Tonight” Wednesday confirmed that Ellenberger (30-11) is still with the promotion despite a 1-5 record in his last six. The former college wrestler has suffered losses to Tarec Saffiedine, Stephen Thompson, Kelvin Gastelum, current champion Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald around a submission of Josh Koscheck.
From 2010-13, “The Juggernaut” went 8-1, defeating the likes of Jake Shields, Diego Sanchez and Nate Marquardt.
It is possible that Ellenberger, who turns 31 years old later this month, changes weight classes from welterweight.
