UFC light heavyweight, and back-to-back “Fight of the Night” winner, Jarred ‘The Messenger’ Hamman (11-3) will drop to middleweight for his next fight against C.B. ‘The Doberman’ Dollaway (11-3) on Aug. 14, when the two meet at the upcoming UFC on Versus 5 event.
“Two time Fight of the Night winner Jared ‘The Messenger’ Hamman has verbally agreed to face two time Submission of the Night winner CB ‘The Doberman’ Dollaway in his middleweight debut August 14 in Milwaukee,” said UFC President Dana White.
UFC on Versus 5 will take place on Aug. 14 at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and will mark the promotions first visit to that State. The headliner for the Versus event is expected to me a lightweight bout between Jim Miller and former WEC champ, Ben ‘Smooth’ Henderson.
Hamman is just 1-2 in his three UFC appearances fighting at 205 lbs, but has earned back-to-back “Fight of the Night” bonuses. Those bouts include a unanimous decision loss to Kyle Kingsbury at UFC Fight Night 22, and a decision win over Rodney Wallace at UFC 111. ‘The Messenger’ lost his UFC debut to Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 105, suffering a first round knockout to the Swede.
Dollaway looks to bounce back after a first round KO loss to Mark Muñoz in March at the UFC on Versus 3 card. The defeat ended a three run win streak for the former “TUF 7″ finalist who holds an overall UFC record of 5-3. That three fight run includes wins over Joe Doerksen at UFC 119, Goran Reljic at UFC 110, and Jay Silva at UFC Fight Night 19.
