Former UFC lightweight champion and WEC veteran Jens Pulver returns Aug. 14 when he faces one-time Bellator Fighting Championships veteran Diego Garijo at
“War on the Mainland” in Irvine, Calif.
The event’s co-promoter, Powerhouse World Promotions CEO Brian D. Manna,
today confirmed the bout with MMAjunkie.com.
Pulver, 35, was released from the WEC earlier this month after his fifth-consecutive loss in the promotion, a first-round submission to fellow
veteran Javier Vasquez at WEC 47. Although he was widely expected to
retire, he recently told fans that he’ll soldier on.
