Joanna Jedrzejczyk promises to regain the UFC women’s strawweight title that she once held for a lengthy amount of time. Although she has high goals, she was unsuccessful in her latest outing.

Valentina Shevchenko scored a decision win over Jedrzejczyk to earn win the UFC women’s flyweight title in the UFC 231 co-headliner. This event went down Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Prior to this fight, the former UFC women’s strawweight champion scored a decision win over Tecia Torres in a women’s strawweight bout. This fight went down on the main card of the UFC on FOX 30 event.

Jedrzejczyk made it known that she plans to regain the title once again and had these plans in place for sometime now.

“Before the fight with Valentina I knew that I was going to drop to the strawweight division again. I didn’t want to put on [extra] weight but in the fight, I felt different,” Jedrzejczyk told Eurobash. “I felt that Valentina was very strong in the clinch or on the ground and it took so much time for me to get out and get the fight back on my feet.”

“Now I want to compete in the strawweight division, win this belt and I will do that, mark my words here and now. After that, I will move to the flyweight division,” she said.
