Joanna Jedrzejczyk suffered the first loss of her mixed martial arts (MMA) career after getting knocked out by Rose Namajunas last night (Sat., Nov. 4, 2017) at UFC 217 in New York City.

In doing so, Joanna fell short of tying Ronda Rousey’s title defense record, forcing her to start from scratch if she ever want’s to be a level above “Rowdy.” But after suffering her first-ever loss (recap), “JJ” seems to growing weary of the comparisons, as she told reporters during the post-fight press conference that the “bullshit” needs to stop.

“Please don’t compare me to Ronda Rousey. I love her so much, and we have very good relationship, but please let’s leave this bullshit away,” said Jedrzejczyk. “I never take fights personal, and I’m not emotional when fighting. Everything went so smooth during this camp. For 13 weeks I was training for American Top Team,” she added.

“Just a big surprise, this is what happens. Big congrats to Rose, I am happy for her and I will be back. This is what happens. It’s not personal, the things that happen before the fight have nothing to do with this fight. It was a good punch, cut me off, I don’t know what happened. It’s a fight, we take this risk.”

Why Joanna felt the need to make that statement is rather odd, as no one was comparing her to Rousey at the time. Perhaps she was referring to Ronda’s knack for letting her emotions get he best of her after a loss, or fighting with bottled up aggression during her bouts.

Whatever the case may be, Joanna needs the comparisons between her and the former face of women’s MMA to stop immediately.

As for where she goes from here, Joanna is hoping the promotion grants her a rematch against “Thug Rose.”

“I will sit and talk to Dana and the UFC,” Jedrzejczyk said. “I think I’ve been a good athlete and a good champion for the UFC. That’s it I think I deserve the rematch. If I get the rematch we will see. I am looking forward.”

Anyone think Jedrzejczyk should get an immediate opportunity at trying to win back her belt?
