UFC lightweights Joe Lauzon (21-7) and Terry Etim (15-4) have reportedly agreed to meet this coming August on the UFC on FOX 4 card.

News of the matchup was announced by Fighters Only on Wednesday, noting that both verbal agreements are in place between the two.

UFC on FOX 4 is expected to take place on August 4, 2012 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. It’s likely that this match will end up on the night’s preliminary card, possibly headlining the undercard before the FOX broadcast.

Lauzon is coming off a devastating loss to Anthony Pettis last month in Japan, as ‘Showtime’ finished their fight at 1:21 of the first round with a knockout kick. The bout ended a two fight win streak as well as an end to Lauzon’s six straight “Fight Night” bonus run. Both of those two wins were via first round submission, with a 47-second stoppage over Melvin Guillard at UFC 136 and a first round finish of Curt Warburton at UFC on Versus 4.

Etim is 1-2 in his last three, but has scored two “Fight Night” bonuses in those matches, and has also earned four bonuses in his last five bouts. The English fighter suffered a knockout loss to Edson Barboza in Brazil last January after Barboza landed a spinning wheel kick to Etim’s chin in the third round. Previous to that, Etim submitted Eddie Faaloloto at UFC 138 in just 17-seconds, earning his fourth “Submission of the Night” bonus.
