Jon Jones was randomly tested by the Nevada Athletic Commission on Dec. 4 prior to his UFC 182 title fight against Daniel Cormier. According to NAC executive director Bob Bennett, Jones was tested twice on that date because his first urine sample was “watery.” Both tests were positive for benzoylecgonine, the main metabolite in cocaine. Bennett has since said that Jones should not have been tested for recreational drugs during that day because they aren’t banned out of competition, which according to the World Anti-Doping Agency code, is anything more than 12 hours before a contest.
Jones was tested again on Dec. 18 but not for recreational drugs. He passed that test.
MMA Fighting obtained the results by filing a public records request.
