“I wouldn’t grapple him but I’d put my foot in his mouth.”
Jon Jones has long been in the crosshairs of Bellator’s Dillon Danis, as the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ace has repeatedly called out ‘Bones’ on social media and, most recently, in an exclusive interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani.
“I offered to do a grappling match with him,” Danis said of Jones. “If we fought in MMA, I feel like, from his stance and how tall he is, if I did an Imanari roll I would take his leg home with me.”
Jones, who would crush Danis in any form of combat sports competition due to his massive size advantage, believes Danis is calling him out to boost his social media following.
The reigning light heavyweight king put Danis, who trains with UFC star Conor McGregor at SBG Ireland, on blast in a recent edition of Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show.
“Dude, nothing is going on with Dillon Danis,” Jones said, per Low Kick MMA’s Jon Fuentes. “I think he knows I’m the type of guy to respond and it’s getting his following up. So, I think that’s what’s going on with him. At the end of the day, I don’t come out and talk trash about these guys. That just came out of nowhere. I feel like I’ve been in this sport for over 10 years now, some guys just like to bring up my name because it looks cool.”

Danis earned his second professional MMA win at Bellator 222, where he submitted Max Humphrey win an armbar in the first round. The bout was contested at a catchweight of 175 lbs. Jones, by comparison, weighs in at 205 lbs and could easily compete at heavyweight.
Jones is scheduled to defend his light heavyweight title against Thiago Santos at UFC 239. The pay-per-view extravaganza takes place next month, July 6 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
