Jon Jones moved his marijuana pipe to his center console ahead of UFC 214

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who was involved in a hit-and-run accident back in early 2015 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has apparently learned from his mistakes.

He no longer keeps his marijuana pipe in the cup holder, where it can fly out of the car when crashing into pregnant women. Instead, he’s relocated the drug paraphernalia to the center console, where at worst, it will get jostled around like his victim’s fetus.

It’s nice to see he’s finally making responsible choices.

That’s according to his in-depth interview with Bleacher Report, where “Bones” attempts to distance himself from the demons of yesteryear. The means to that end is accepting himself for who he is — not who he thinks he should be.

From his conversation with Mike Sager:

“I don’t want to be known as a good guy or a bad guy. I just want to be me. I don’t have it in me to try to pretend. I don’t care anymore. Right now, you got the rawest form of myself that I think I’ve ever been. And it’s a lot easier to be this way. Earlier in my career, I wanted to be, like, the Michael Jordan of UFC. Now, I feel like I am who I am. The proof is in the winning. I don’t have to act like a winner. I am a winner. And I’m a winner even if I’m rough around the edges. Even if I’m a Christian who swears and smokes weed and drinks and does whatever, this the champ you have. This is the champ I am.”

I guess this guy was right all along.

Jones returns from his recent drug test suspension to battle longtime nemesis Daniel Cormier. They’ll headline the upcoming UFC 214 pay-per-view (PPV) event on July 29, 2017 inside Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. (more on that here).

Assuming there aren’t any “fuck ups” between now and then.
