Jon Jones has opened as the betting favorite over Israel Adesanya.

After Israel Adesanya knocked out Robert Whittaker to unify the middleweight titles this past Saturday at UFC 243, there’s been considerable interest in a possible superfight with reigning light heavyweight champ and pound-for-pound No. 1 Jon Jones, who claims ‘The Last Stylebender’ doesn’t have the confidence to move up in weight to challenge him for the light heavyweight title.

There’s so much interest in this match-up that betting website BestFightOdds.com has listed Jon Jones as the -550 favorite over +375 underdog Adesanya.

BestFightOdds posted the odds on Tuesday.

Jones teased last month that he has a ‘big fight announcement’ coming up but the JacksonWink protege didn’t reveal an opponent. The multiple-time light heavyweight champion last fought at UFC 239, where he edged a split decision win over Brazilian knockout artist Thiago Santos at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.

Adesanya, who recently extended his professional MMA record to a perfect 18-0, is expected to defend his newly-acquired middleweight title against Paulo Costa in the new year.
