The clock is counting down as Jon Jones gears up to fight Daniel Cormier for a second time at UFC 200 on July 9.
As arguably the best pound-for-pound fighter of all time, Jones is attempting to reestablish himself as the undisputed Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight king with a victory over “DC” on the grandest stage in mixed martial arts (MMA).
The two Octagon superstars have verbally gone toe-to-toe since their initial meeting at UFC 182, and the bad blood continued to pump earlier this week as Jones bashed Cormier via Twitter for posting a training video that simply wasn’t up to his par:
.@dc_mma You probably should practice punching a little higher https://t.co/q5bAtA2l5z

BC the dudes not a real martial artist, still haven’t found a video of him kickboxing without his wrestling shoes https://t.co/2HrHWUGDE2

Cormier responded in fashion:
. @JonnyBones I’ll be punching just high enough to hip u right on the tip of the chin! #28isthenew40

Jones then came over the top with a little grammatical hilarity:
Hip me with your best shot #40HadYouCrying https://t.co/XcGQ83Cd3t

This is a relatively short exchange based on Jones-Cormier standards, but it just goes to show you that both guys are always looking for the slightest edge over one another. It’s quite entertaining, especially considering they will finally settle the score at UFC 200.
