He might not be Usain Bolt, but it looks like Jon Jones has some serious wheels.
The UFC light heavyweight champion stars in a new Reebok commercial, running the streets of Los Angeles and showing off the ZPump Fusion sneakers. “Bones” starts in Downtown Los Angeles and makes his way through the infamous Skid Row neighborhood in the well-shot commercial.
Jones, 27, is one of a number of UFC athletes that Reebok has signed to endorsement deals recently, including Ronda Rousey, Conor McGregor and Paige VanZant. Anthony Pettis and Johny Hendricks are also sponsored by the worldwide apparel brand. Reebok’s uniform deal with the UFC kicks off in July and the company’s logo is already apparent all over UFC events.
Jones (21-1), the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world, was once a part of the Nike team, but has since departed that organization with Nike stepping away from MMA. Reebok seems to be the perfect fit for him — pun intended given the “shoe that adapts to you” slogan of the ZPump Fusion.
“Bones” will defend his title against Anthony Johnson in the main event of UFC 187 on May 23 in Las Vegas. The UFC’s annual Memorial Day Weekend show has one of their most stacked cards ever. In the co-main event, middleweight champion Chris Weidman takes on Vitor Belfort and in a lightweight title eliminator Donald Cerrone meets Khabib Nurmagomedov.
