Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones announced on Twitter that he would be willing to step in and fight Stipe Miocic at UFC 196, which currently does not have a main event. However, Bones has one condition: He wants it to be for the heavyweight title.

Werdum was scheduled to face Cain Velasquez in the main event of UFC 196, but when Velasquez pulled out due to a back injury, so did Werdum. Stipe Miocic would have been Werdum’s replacement opponent.

The fight would be on very short notice, as UFC 196 takes place on February 6th. We’ll have live round-by-round coverage of the event right here on MMANews.com, and should have an official announcement from the UFC regarding the event shortly.
