Dan Henderson celebrates win over Fedor Emelianenko
The date for a UFC light heavyweight title bout between champion Jon ‘Bones’ Jones (16-1) and No. 1 contender Dan ‘Hendo’ Henderson (29-8) was made official by promotion president Dana White for September 1, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
White Tweeted the news on Wednesday night to fans (@danawhite).

No event has been listed by the UFC for Sept. 1st, but it’s expected that the Labor Day long weekend event will be labelled UFC 151.
This will be Jones fourth straight title defense as he looks for his eight straight victory since a disqualification loss to Matt Hamill back in December 2009. The champ recently defended his title last month at UFC 145 by winning a unanimous decision over Rashad Evans.
This will be Henderson’s third attempt at winning UFC gold after losing PRIDE/UFC unification bouts at middleweight and light heavyweight, to Anderson Silva and Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson respectively. Henderson is riding a four fight win streak with his most recent victory taking place last November at UFC 139 in the 2011 “Fight of the Year” against Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua.
