Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, will have to answer for a failed drug test that overturned his UFC 214 knockout win over Daniel Cormier to a “no contest.”

But not until February.

That’s because “Bones” was granted a continuance by California State Athletic Commission (CSAC), charged with disciplining the embattled pound-for-pound great (and repeat offender) in the wake of his latest misstep.

That’s according to a report from MMA Fighting.

Unfortunately for Jones, once he settles his business with CSAC, the governing body responsible for the last July’s fight card in Anaheim, he still needs to make peace with United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

Expect an uphill battle.

“Bones” was also stripped of his 205-pound title, which was promptly returned to Cormier. Unless Jones and his team can prove he did not knowingly ingest a banned substance, he could be facing a suspension of up to four years.

Time will tell.
