Jon Jones wishes Daniel Cormier a ‘healthy recovery’: ‘Enjoy that belt’

Jon Jones went on Twitter to wish the injured Daniel Cormier a healthy recovery.

On Friday, Daniel Cormier was forced out of his highly anticipated rematch with Jon Jones at UFC 197 with an injury, bringing a halt to their trash talk. Cormier and Jones clearly do not like each other, but Jones isn’t into talking smack to his injured opponent.

Jones posted the following message on Twitter, Saturday:

I don’t wish injuries on anyone, I hope you have a healthy recovery Daniel. Enjoy that belt

Now we have to wait and see whether or not a replacement fighter will get the call to step up on short notice, or if the Cormier-Jones rematch will be delayed to a later date, such as July’s UFC 200. If it is delayed and no replacement is sought, a flyweight title scrap between Demetrious Johnson and Henry Cejudo will likely be elevated to main event status.

UFC 197 takes place live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 23.
