Jon Jones calls out Anthony Smith on social media, Smith fires back.

Jon Jones and Anthony Smith seemed to be on good terms before, during and after their light heavyweight championship tilt at UFC 235, but that seems to have changed in the wake of ‘Lionheart’s’ recent interview with Submission Radio, where the former title challenger said he has become ‘obsessed’ about a rematch with ‘Bones’.

“I have become absolutely obsessed with Jon Jones,” Smith told Submission Radio. “It’s almost embarrassing how much I have focused on, studied…it’s become an obsession. You know, I’m sitting next to Rashad Evans during the fight, and I’m, like, learning Jon’s mannerisms. I can almost tell you what he’s thinking sometimes. It’s weird.”

Jones, who beat Smith via unanimous decision in the UFC 235 main event, responded to Smith’s interview by taking a dig at the 30-year-old on social media.

Smith soon caught wind of Jones’ comments and fired back with a tweet of his own, claiming that the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion still owes him a beer for not discontinuing after being hit with an illegal knee in the fourth round, which would have effectively cost Jones the fight in the form of a disqualification.

“Oh now we’re making fun of people? You better check yourself, tough guy. Don’t forget I’m the guy that made you almost likable… I’ll quickly be the guy to change that if you keep it up. Also, you owe me a fucking drink and i don’t forget…Modelo…12oz bottle…chilled,” Smith fired back.

Smith, who fights out of Factory X in Denver, Colorado, rebounded from his loss to Jones with a win over Alexander Gustafsson at UFC Fight Night 153, submitting the Swede in the fourth round of the main event in ‘The Mauler’s’ hometown of Stockholm, Sweden.

Jones, meanwhile, recently defended his light heavyweight title against Thiago Santos, edging out a split decision win over the Brazilian slugger in the UFC 239 main event at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.
