In a couple of weeks’ time, Jon Jones will receive his sanctions from the California State Athletic Commission for his UFC 214 drug test failure.

It has been seven months since Jon Jones failed his UFC 214 in-competition drug test when he tested positive for Turinabol. By the end of February, the former UFC light heavyweight champion will finally receive his sanctions from the California State Athletic Commission.

As noted on the official CSAC website, Jones’ case will be discussed in a hearing scheduled for February 27th in Anaheim. The said inquiry will determine the specifics of the fighter’s penalty, which will likely be a suspension and a fine.

After the CSAC hearing, Jones will still need to go to arbitration with the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), which his manager Malki Kawa expects to be settled by the end of the month, as well.

Jones is looking at a possible four-year ban from USADA for his second drug-test misdemeanor. The first one took place at UFC 200 in 2016, where he tested positive for clomiphene and was forced out of his scheduled headliner against Daniel Cormier.

Jones defeated Cormier at UFC 214 via third-round knockout, but his test failure resulted in the fight to be overturned to a no contest, and “DC” being reinstated as the UFC light heavyweight champion.
