Jon Jones isn’t a fan of people believing that Daniel Cormier might be the greatest of all time with a UFC 226 win over Stipe Miocic.

Who is the greatest fighter of all time? It’s a question that always generates a lot of debate when it comes up, and can be taken in a lot of different directions. So when the UFC tweeted about Daniel Cormier possibly becoming the GOAT with a UFC 226 win over heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic, it led to some discussion.

But for Jon Jones, there’s no chance.

Jones, the former UFC light heavyweight champion, has defeated Cormier on two occasions. Once in 2015, and then again (via stoppage) in mid-2017. The second one was flipped to a No Contest when Jones tested positive for turinabol, but everyone still remembers it quite vividly. So when the UFC posted that Tweet, Jones had to remind everyone what was up:

It’s true that we likely wouldn’t be asking this question had Jones not tested positive. And Cormier probably wouldn’t even be in this spot, fighting Miocic under such a big spotlight. But Jones did. He is currently suspended, and could be on the sidelines for up to four years depending on what USADA has to say about it.

Miocic and Cormier meet on July 7th in Las Vegas.
