Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been eliminated from the 265-pound title chase after failing to come to terms on a heavyweight price tag with promotion president Dana White.

But don’t expect that to keep him from achieving greatness.

“I’m about to give birth to something big, something out of the ordinary,” Jones wrote on Twitter. “On a path that no man on this planet has ever walked. Can’t rush greatness.”

Maybe he’ll be the first guy on Mars?

Jones, who turns 34 in just a few weeks, has not competed since edging out Dominick Reyes at the UFC 247 pay-per-view (PPV) event back in early 2020. “Bones” later vacated his title with plans to challenge heavyweight champ Francis Ngannou.

For a small fee, of course.

Instead, “The Predator” will move on to rematch Derrick Lewis at some point later this year, freeing up Jones to do … whatever it is he’s doing.

Any guesses?
