Anthony Smith scored a Performance of the Night bonus for his come-from-behind submission win against Volkan Oezdemir at UFC Fight Night 138, but former light heavyweight kingpin Jon Jones wasn’t too impressed by ‘Lionheart.’

When asked by a fan what he fought of Smith’s performance, ‘Bones’ responded with the following Tweet:

Smith, who was the underdog heading into the fight, submitted Oezdemir with a rear-naked choke in the third round and extended his win streak to 3-0. The former middleweight contender holds wins over the likes of Hector Lombard, ‘Shogun’ Rua and Rashad Evans, and is expected to catapult into the top-five UFC light heavyweight rankings after his latest win.

Jones, the former pound-for-pound No. 1, is eligible to return to competition as of today, Oct. 28, after serving out a 15-month suspension by the United States Anti-Doping Agency for his use of performance-enhancing drugs. The 31-year-old is scheduled for a championship rematch with Alexander Gustafsson at the upcoming UFC 232 PPV on Dec. 29. Two-division champion Daniel Cormier will be stripped of the light heavyweight title after Jones and Gustafsson make weight.

Judging by Jones’ recent tweet, it’s unlikely that the JacksonWink product will want to defend his title against Smith, who has emerged as 2018’s breakout contender. Depending on the outcome of UFC 230, where Cormier will defend his heavyweight title against Derrick Lewis, Jones — if victorious against Gustafsson — could go on to challenge ‘DC’ for the heavyweight belt.
