Jose-AldoFeatherweight champion José Aldo (18-1) has withdrawn from his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut at UFC 125. Aldo, who received his official UFC belt in a ceremony this past weekend, had been scheduled to defend his new title against Josh Grispi in the co-main event of the New Year’s day show.

Heavy.com was the first to break the news today, and were informed by a source close to the event.

A compacted vertebrae was causing tingling in Aldo’s arms.

Aldo has won eleven straight fights, including eight straight under the World Extreme Cagefighting promotion. The fighter defeated Mike Brown at WEC 44 last year to earn the WEC title and has successfully defended the title twice.
