Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight fighter, and current #1 contender, Junior “Cigano” dos Santos (12-1) is anxious for the promotion to confirm a date for his upcoming title fight with champion Cain Velasquez.
No date, or event, has been hinted at by the UFC but fans should expect an announcement in the near future as Velasquez was relatively unhurt after dominating Brock Lesnar in their title fight.
When both men finally do step into the octagon, Dos Santos will be coming to “knockout” his opponent and hand the champ his first loss.
“I hope they [UFC] confirm a title shot soon, I’m anxious. I can’t promise much but I’m going to work to knock Velasquez out. My boxing base is the key of the combat. Cain won’t wish to try and match abilities there, he will try to take me down and throw punches on the ground… I believe in my boxing overall. Even thought I am preparing in other aspects, I would lie if I told you that I don’t think mainly of fighting on the feet.”
“Cigano” earned the #1 contender spot after defeating “TUF 10″ season winner Roy “Big Country” Nelson by unanimous decision at UFC 117 last August.
