On Thursday, as in the buildup to Saturday night’s UFC 117, all the air got sucked out of the room by the main event.

Eight fighters took the podium in a San Francisco hotel to promote the
event and tried mostly in vain to compete with middleweight challenger
Chael Sonnen, who’s traveling roadshow comes to end this Saturday
against champion Anderson Silva at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif.

Even with the lack of love, the fighters got a kick out of the
quote-machine Sonnen, and Junior Dos Santos, who vies for a shot at the
heavyweight belt against Roy Nelson, said he wasn’t bothered by the
relative lack of attention given to his fight.
