When Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Conor McGregor at UFC 229 to retain the UFC lightweight title, he cemented his position as one of the most popular athletes in the Russian Federation. Nurmagomedov’s dominant performance against the brash Irishman made him a household name across Russia. This became evident when Metamodern Comics Art Group decided to create a comic book based on the Dagestani fighter, titled ‘Godzilla vs. Khabib NUrmagomedov.’

The comic book, which was distributed in a limited print run several months ago, tells the peculiar story of Nurmagomedov being called up to defend Sochi, Russia from a Godzilla attack. Political figures such as Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov and the last Emperor of Russia, Nicholas II, also make cameo appearances. As expected, the comic culminates in a battle between the UFC champ and Godzilla that would put the original film to shame.

Though the comic book was written and distributed in Russia, an English translation of the entire 30-page comic has been made available exclusively for BloodyElbow.com readers.
