Beneil Dariush kept his hot streak going earlier tonight (Sat., Aug. 8, 2020) at UFC Vegas 6 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the veteran lightweight finished Scott Holtzman in the first round by landing a powerful spinning backfist knockout.
Holtzman had something to prove coming into this fight against the higher ranked Dariush but he wasn’t given enough time to show his skills. After landing a brutal knee along the cage Dariush unloaded on Holtzman and beat him from pillar to post. Holtzman kept absorbing the punishment before Dariush lined up a beautiful spinning backfist in the middle of the cage. Dariush’s forearm connected with Holtzman and that was all she wrote.

With this performance, Dariush locks down his fifth-straight win in the stacked lightweight division and proves that he’s ready for another shot at the top 10. He’s finished four fights in a row and looks like a straight killer right now.
