Kyler Phillips kept things rolling earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 3, 2020) at UFC Fight Island 4 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside Flash Forum on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., when “Matrix” defeated Octagon newcomer Cameron Else via second-round TKO (punches and elbows).
Else came into his UFC debut riding a hot streak but he simply wasn’t able to get it going against Phillips. “Matrix” consistently moved around the pocket, really connected when he sat down on his punches, and kept Else on his toes with spinning attacks of all shapes and sizes.
Else tried to get some points back but Phillips decided to change levels and bring the fight to the canvas. Phillips was clearly the better grappler and was able to land heavy ground-and-pound before taking full mount and forcing Else to turn over. A few hard punches later and the referee stepped in for the stoppage.

With this performance, Phillips locks down his second-straight UFC win and proves that he’s ready to take the next step forward in his career. With a nice blend of unique striking and sneaky good grappling, “Matrix” is showing different levels to his game. One more win like this one could send the 25-year-old into a top 15 matchup.
