Former UFC welterweight contender Josh Koscheck has undergone successful surgery to his right orbital after it was broke in his title fight with UFC champion Georges St-Pierre two weekends ago.
ESPN’s Josh Gross posted the notice on Monday noting that Koscheck’s surgery went well and the fighter could be laid up for up to four months.
Koscheck lost to St-Pierre in the main event of UFC 124 in Montreal. He had been scheduled to fly home to California but because the trauma to his right eye was so severe he had to be driven by vehicle to Boston to have his eye assessed.
Now that he’s undergone successful surgery to repair the eye, Koscheck will be driven back to California and could be out for even longer than four months depending on how well he heals.
