Former Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle appeared as a guest on the latest edition of Ric Flair’s latest podcast and during his interview, he revealed what he thinks UFC star Conor McGregor has been up to since he first stepped into the UFC limelight.

Angle started out talking about how technically proficient “The Notorious” one is both in terms of his fighting skills, and his brash personality. As Angle explains, he feels McGregor simply took the pro wrestling playbook and utilized it within the MMA realm.

“Conor McGregor is an incredible athlete and a wonderful fighter,” Angle told WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair during the show. “I watched him and he’s so polished. I believe that Conor has taken the wrestling playbook and utilized it in UFC. In other words, he loves being a heel and he does it very well.”

Angle continued, “I think he just did it because it makes his character even more hateful. I think that Conor is doing this strictly for the money. The more he can stir people up, the more popular he becomes.”

As Angle elaborated, he shared his belief that McGregor has had it in his mind all along to “crossover” to the pro wrestling world. He even went as far as to predict this could be happening soon, as Angle said he doesn’t believe the Irish mega-star will be fighting much longer.

“I also think he wants to crossover,” said Angle. “I think he wants to go to WWE and this is a good opening, a good avenue for him. I don’t think Conor McGregor is going to fight much longer.”
