Kurt Holobaugh Replaces Jimy Hettes At UFC 159, Faces Steven Siler

Kurt HolobaughDuring Tuesday nights episode of “UFC Tonight” it was revealed that featherweight Jimy ‘The Kid’ Hettes (10-1) would not be competing at next months UFC 159 event due to injury.

Stepping in for Hettes will be Strikeforce fighter Kurt Holobaugh (9-1) who will now take on veteran Steven ‘Super’ Silver (21-10).

UFC 159: Jones vs. Sonnen is expected to take place on April 27, 2013 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Light heavyweight champ Jon Jones will headline in a title defense versus current contender Chael Sonnen.

Holobaugh made one appearance in the Strikeforce cage, losing by decision to Pat Healy last January at the promotions final event. The defeat was the first of his career ending his win streak at nine straight bouts which included eight finishes.

Siler is 3-1 in his last four, all of which have taken place inside the Octagon since debuting at the TUF 14 Finale. Most recently Siler fought this past November at UFC 154 seeing a three-fight win streak come to an end, losing to Darren Elkins by decision.
