Joe Lauzon isn’t sure if he’ll retire or not after his first-round TKO win over Jonathan Pearce on Saturday.

Joe Lauzon turned back the clock with a vicious performance at UFC Boston.

The veteran lightweight defeated Jonathan Pearce by first-round TKO Saturday night at TD Garden, snapping his three-fight skid and earning his first win in nearly three years.

The Massachusetts native was noncommittal on his future in the sport after the win. Lauzon, 35, said it could’ve been his last fight, but ultimately he has “no idea” what will happen moving forward.

“It’s a great way to end it if that’s the end, for sure,” Lauzon said at the UFC Boston post-fight press conference. “But we’ll kind of see how things go. I’m always going to be training, whether I’m cornering or helping out guys. We got a lot of guys who train at my gym now — Rob Font, Calvin Kattar, Mike Rodriguez, Peter Barrett — we got a lot of guys who are always getting ready for fights. I’m in the gym with them all the time, anyway.”

Lauzon said he realizes that one win doesn’t necessarily mean he’s “back” and should continue to fight. After all, he had lost three in a row — two by finish — before Saturday night.

“Tonight was a great night,” Lauzon said, “but I think too many guys fall in the trap, they have a good fight and are like, ‘Oh, I’m back, here we go.’ I’m not there. But we’ll take it, and we’ll see what happens. Maybe I fight in six months, maybe I fight in a year, maybe I’m done. Who knows.”

Lauzon, who had his 27th UFC fight against Pearce, has been an MMA fighter since 2002. He got his start in the Octagon as a competitor on The Ultimate Fighter 5. Some of his biggest career wins include Jens Pulver, Jeremy Stephens, and Michael Chiesa.
