Yves Edwards and Spencer Fisher haven’t been around mixed martial arts as long as the sport itself. It only seems that way.

Both fighters are 36. Edwards has competed since 1997, Fisher since 2002.

Finally, after a combined 95 pro MMA fights, the two longtime lightweights will cross paths. Edwards and Fisher will meet at UFC on FOX 8 at Seattle’s Key Arena on July 27. MMAFighting confirmed the bout, which was initially reported by USA Today.

Fisher (24-9) has been a UFC mainstay since 2005. But he’s lost five of his past six bouts, including a decision loss to Sam Stout in their trilogy fight last summer at UFC on FX 4.

Edwards (42-19-1), who was considered by many the uncrowned UFC lightweight champion during the period when the company didn’t recognize a 155-pound champion, will be making his 18th trip to the Octagon. Edwards’ last fight was a split-decision loss to Isaac Vaillie-Flagg in a tightly contested bout at UFC 156.
