We’re still in the month of January on the mixed martial arts industry ceases to stand still even for a moment.

On Saturday, we had what I viewed as the best UFC on FOX event to date. This upcoming Saturday we have what appears to be the best UFC pay-per-view in god knows how long. And while the card isn’t star studded, Thursday’s Bellator 87 is one of their better events.

Oh, and five-time UFC champion Randy Couture appears to have signed a deal with Spike TV and perhaps Viacom itself to appear on a number of projects involving that channel or perhaps the larger group of channels. Up first? A stint as a coach on the first season of Bellator’s upcoming reality show.

They say as much as things change, the more they stay the same. Allow to me interject here and note that unequivocally does not apply to mixed martial arts. At least not right now.

There’s a lot going on, so join me today to discuss all of this and more. In terms of today’s chat, anything is up for discussion, but I will lead with this and it all kicks off at 1 p.m. ET.
