There isn’t a ton of buzz for it, but the UFC returns to FOX this Saturday with UFC on Fox 8. It’s a decent card, but not great. The main and co-main event are interesting. There are a couple of other notable nuggets on there. It’s nothing to write home about, but nothing to scoff at either.
The bigger news these days seems to be who is signing to fight who and where they’re going to do it. Daniel Cormier is finally going to get his fight with Roy Nelson, but that might be his last one at heavyweight. Chael Sonnen is going back to middleweight, robbing Rashad Evans of a light heavyweight fight he wanted. And hey, Luke Rockhold and Tim Boetsch are going to tangle. That’s a good scrap.
UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is also making the move to Hollywood more quickly than I anticipated. No dates are set yet, but she’s slated to have some sort of role (probably very minor) in Expendables 3 with Sylvester Stallone.
All in all, there’s a lot going on, so join me today to discuss all of this and more. In terms of today’s chat, anything is up for discussion, but I will lead with this and it all kicks off at 1 p.m. ET.
