Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is all set to kick off its UFC Fight Night 164 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, which takes place this TONIGHT (Sat., Nov. 16, 2019) inside Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil, live on ESPN+. That’s where Top 10 light heavyweight veteran Jan Blachowicz collides with former middleweight contender Ronaldo Souza in what marks “Jacare’s” highly anticipated 205-pound debut. Elsewhere on the card, former light heavyweight champion Mauricio Rua returns to action against the rough-and-tumble Paul Craig, who fills in for the injured Sam Alvey. In addition, Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Charles Oliveira looks to lock up another limb in a lightweight war with Jared Gordon.

Blachowicz circles out into open space. Jacare misses with a hook but lands a leg kick. Jacare clinches back up against the cage. They exchange small knees to the body.

Blachowicz opens again with an inside leg kick. And lands another. Jacare connects with an overhand right. An inside leg kick to jab scores for Blachowicz. They both swing with heat but miss. Jacare lands a heavy leg kick and Blachowicz returns one of his own. Jacare closes the gap and they return to the clinch against the fence. Jacare is working for the takedown but Blachowicz is doing a great job of fighting it off. A foot stomp registers for Jacare. A knee to the midsection hits for Jacare before they break apart. They’re clinching against the clinch with Craig’s back to the fence. Craig lands a hook upon the break. Shogun shoots in and Craig grabs ahold of a guillotine. He separates and starts teeing off with a plethora of rights and lefts. Shogun weathers the storm and Craig clinches up. Shogun circles into open space. Craig lands a jab and then a left hook. A body kick sneaks in for Craig. Shogun cli chess back up against the cage. They break apart and Shogun lands a powerful hook. Shogun blocks a spinning kick. He stands back up and dives in with another punch. Shogun stands up again and drops another hammer. Craig lands a set of hammerfists from his back. Shogun stands again and Craig kicks at the legs. Shogun dives in with another punch and takes half guard.

Round 1:

Oliveira opens the bout with a leg kick. Gordon connects with a cross and goes for a takedown. They scramble and return to their feet. A cross connects for Oliveira and an overhand right lands for Gordon. A liver shot lands for Oliveira. A jab lands for Gordon but Oliveira clips him with stiff right that drops him. Oliveira follows up with a devious uppercut one that drops Gordon! One followup ground strike connects and this fight is over!!!! WOW!!!

Round 1:

A big body kick from Arroyo starts the match. He follows up with a flurry and gets the takedown. Muniz rolls for an armbar and it’s tight. Arroyo manages to pull his arm out. Muniz is up and gets a takedown of his own. Arroyo locks up the full guard. Muniz lands a series of punches. As Arroyo stands up, Muniz connects with an illegal knee to the face. The referee calls time out. The replay shows that Arroyo was technically up and not a downed fighter. The fight restarts in open space. Muniz shoots in but Arroyo sprawls and stays on his feet. Muniz connects with an inside leg kick. Arroyo returns one to the outside leg. Muniz connects with the foot on a head kick. Arroyo stuffs another takedown attempt. Another leg kick connects for Arroyo. A light body kick to cross hits for Muniz. Arroyo wobbles Muniz with a kick at the bell.

Arroyo is standing over his opponent and drops a right hand to the gut. Muniz just misses with an up kick. Arroyo drops into the full guard. Muniz looks for a way to lock up a sub but nothing is there. The referee stands them up as the ten second sticks clack.

They exchange body kicks to start the round. Muniz shoots in and gets a takedown without much of a struggle. Short shots are raining down for Muniz, who is pretty much in side control. Arroyo exposes his back but escapes out of the back door. Arroyo stands above his foe and lands a jab to the body. Muniz attempts a takedown but falls to his back with Arroyo still standing. Arroyo lands a couple of punches and the crowd starts to boo. The referee stands up Muniz. Arroyo blocks a body kick.

Turman gets a big takedown but Perez is right back up. He tries to slam again but Perez keeps his balance. Perez lands another elbow from the clinch. Perez lands a spinning backfist and separates. Perez misses with a jumping switch kick. He misses with a looping left hand and whiffs a wheel kick. A two-piece connects for Turman. A left hand to head kick connects for Perez. A big right hand scores forTurman. Perez cracks with a body kick and then one to the legs. A leaping left hook lands for Turman. A jumping kick is blocked by Perez.

He drags Perez to the mat but just for a second. Another knee to the head connects for Turman. Perez gives up the takedown and lands in the turtle position. Turman takes full mount. Perez rolls for a leg but Turman quickly escapes. Turman is controlling from the top. A trio of punches land for Turman. Perez is back up but still in the clinch. Moraes gets a takedown right away. He takes side control in the middle of the Octagon. Moraes tries to take the back but Krause spins on top. Short hammerfists score for Krause. Moraes starts to scramble and Krause stands up. A jab lands for Krause. A calf kick does damage for Krause. A body hook hits for the American. A lead cross lands flush for Moraes. And another. Moraes shoots in and shoves Krause against the cage. Krause lands small punches as time expires.

Krause threw a body hook but eats a hook to the head. Krause misses with a right hand. They exchange crosses. A jab lands for Krause as he pressures forward. The jab continues to pump for Krause. A body hook scores for Krause. A left hook to uppercut hits for Krause. A jab cross then cross hook lands for Krause. Moraes gets dropped! Krause allows him to stand. AN uppercut causes Moraes to flop to his back. Krause makes him stand back up. Moraes does not want to be on his feet. A looping left hook lands for Moraes. Another calf kick lands for Krause. Ramos throws a flying knee to head kick. He lands with a jab. Garagorri returns to the body kick. Ramos hits a leg kick and then lands a one-two. Ramos double upon on the cross. Garagorri misses with a right hand and gets taken down. Garagorri works back to his feet. A spinning backfist from Ramos is blocked. Ramos lands a light body kick and then scores a takedown. He takes the back ands sets his hooks. Garagorri stands to his feet with Ramos attached. Ramos locks up the RNC. They fall backwards to the floor and Garagorri taps!

Green explodes in with a cross. He teeps to the midsection. Trinaldo misses with an overhand left. A left hand drops Green! He recovers quickly and stands up but Trinaldo slams him down to the canvas. A scramble ensues. Trinaldo jumps an arm-in guillotine. Green takes his time and escapes to his feet. Trinaldo tries to get the fight back but Green defends and takes top position. Green works the far arm for a Kimora. Trinaldo stands up and slams Green again. Somehow Green ends up on top. Green is landing short punches from the top.

A left hand connects for Trinaldo. Green lands a jab but eats a leg kick. A big left hand misses for Trinaldo but a jab hits. AN up kick to right hook glances for Green. Trinaldo cracks to the inside leg. A body cross gets through for Trinaldo. Green misses with a head kick. Another looping hook misses for Trinaldo, but a cross connects. A cross to body kick lands for Green. A hook scores for Trinaldo. Green lands a body kick followed by a leg kick. A set of crosses land for Green as Trinaldo misses with a one-two. Alves takes it and works hard for an RNC but Brown has two on one. Brown spins into top position. Alves stands up and eats a knee. Brown is holding Alves against the cage again. He lands a knee to the midsection. Brown hits a trip to finish the round on top.

A front kick pushes Alves to the ground for a moment. Brown lands a flying knee. Alves takes top position from eating a head kick. Brown quickly locks up the triangle. He lands some mean elbows as he looks to secure the position. ALVES TAPS!!!!

Round 1:

Silva de Andrade pressure right away. Barao misses with a spinning back kick. Barao keeps to the gut. A one-two scores for Silva de Andrade. Barao is already bleeding. A cross lands for Barao. A big body hook lands for Silva de Andrade but Barao eats it well. Silva de Andrade double ups on the jab. Barao misses with a head kick but lands a jab. They trade right hands. Barao hits a well timed takedown and takes half guard. He is controlling from the position, and the ref stands them up. A monstrous left hook clocks Barao, and two more punches connect. Another left hook connects for Silva de Andrade.

They both take a deep breath. A teep lands for Barao. A cross hits for Silva de Andrade but Barao lands a left. An uppercut gets through for Silva de Andrade. He lands a body cross but Barao returns with a left. Barao shoots in again without success. A spinning back kick misses for Silva de Andrade. A jab to leg kick connects for Silva de Andrade.

Round 1:

A brawl breaks out right away! Lipski is throwing heat! She drops de Padua with a stiff punch and takes top position. De Padua rolls for an arm but Lipski punches her several times. De Padua shifts her hips looking for a triangle. Lipski punches away and back out to her feet. De Padua stands up and Lipski starts to flurry again. De Padua blasts a double leg and lands in the full guard. She’s landing her own ground and pound, dropping elbows. Lipski rolls for an arm but eats punches because of it.

Round 2:

Lipski throws a one-two to open the round. She takes top position after de Padua botches a takedown. Lipski is controlling from half guard with de Padua looking to gain the full guard. De Padua lands an illegal up kick and the referee calls a time out. The ref takes away one point for the infraction, and restarts the fighters on the ground. Lipski scores with a couple of hammerfists. De Padua grabs ahold of the rubber guard, but lets it go. Lipski continues to chip away with strikes. De Padua scrambles and locks up a reverse triangle, but time runs out.

Round 3:

De Padua gets a takedown right away. Lipski rolls for a kneebar and it’s tight! De Padua defends well and lands a couple of punches. Lipski locks up her full guard. She scrambles and takes top position. De Padua goes for a guillotine, but nothing’s there. Lipski controls from the top of half guard. She lands a few punches as time runs out.

Round 1:

Cortez opens with a jab and lands a left hook. A cross from Melo hits home. Inside leg kick hits for Cortez followed by a flush left hook. Melo misses with a jab but connects with a cross. Lead right hand hits for Melo. Cortez counters with a right hand. Cortez slips to the floor but stands right up. Melo is bringing the forward pressure. Cortez hits another leg kick and Melo counters with a right cross. Left hook to the body then one upstairs scores for Cortez. Right hand scores for Cortez from the single collar tie. Melo whiffs on a hook. Strong hook lands for Cortez. Jab lands for Melo as Cortez closes the distance. Overhand right glances for Cortez. A hook followed by another hits as Cortez moves her head as she strikes.

Cortez closes the distance and takes the fight to the cage. She lands a set of knees after failing to get the takedown. Melo has a whizzer, but is eating knees to the body. Cortez works for the takedown and gets Melo down to one knee. Cortez works her way to the back with Melo bent over at the waist. She finally gets the takedown, but Melo stands back to her feet.

Cortez ties up an arm and starts landing some ground and pound. She blasts a mean knee to the midsection. Cortez opts to stand up and brings down a heavy punch. She elbows away until the bell.
