UFC Fight Night 146 takes place TONIGHT (Sat., March 9, 2019) on ESPN+, scheduled for INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas. That’s where heavy-handed former title contender, Derrick “Black Beast” Lewis, tries to keep himself afloat in the division title chase against ex-heavyweight champion, Junior “Cigano” dos Santos. In the UFC on ESPN+ 4 co-main event, welterweight phenom “Curtious” Curtis Millender puts his nine-fight win streak on the line against former Jungle Fight welterweight champion, Elizeu Zaleski “Capoeira” dos Santos. Elsewhere on the card, “Big” Ben Rothwell makes his Octagon return against heavyweight hurter Blagoy Ivanov, while longtime middleweight veteran, Tim Boetsch, collides with the rough-and-tumble Omari Akhmedov.

Hard hook by Smolka, who gets tagged in the clinch but connects on the break. Smolka tries a head-and-arm throw and gets slammed into side control for his trouble. Smolka rolls to his knees and Schnell cranks on a guillotine. Smolka gives a thumbs-up, waiting it out. Schnell looks to transition to a triangle. Two minutes to go.

Schnell transitions once again to an armbar, loses it, then locks up a crushing triangle and this one draws the tap.

170 lbs.: Alex Morono vs. Zak Ottow

Round 1: Morono on the front foot early, throwing punches. Swatting right from Ottow. Lead right. One minute in. Straight right by Morono on the counter. They trade in the center. Body kick from Ottow. Another. Morono lands one of his own. Ottow fakes a level change two minutes in. Jab connects. Counter right by Ottow. Morono lands a spinning back kick and a snap kick downstairs. Ottow shoots into a guillotine and Morono uses it to sweep to mount, dropping elbows. Two minutes to go.

Morono takes the back and starts blasting away with punches and elbows, forcing the stoppage.

Final result: Morono def. Ottow by TKO (punches and elbows)


155 lbs.: Dan Moret vs. Alex White

Round 1: Moret immediately lands a 1-2 and shoots against the fence. Knees to the thigh. One minute in. White defends a takedown. Still grindin’. Two minutes in. Knee from White. Moret connects on the break, ducks back in. White sprawls on a shot and bears down on a guillotine. Moret escapes, clips him with some more punches, and changes levels. Two minutes to go.

Outside trip puts Moret on top. White looks for a kimura, surrenders half guard. Nearly to mount. One minute to go. Nasty elbows from Moret. White spins out into his own takedown attempt. 10-9 Moret.

Round 2: Moret shoots right away. White puts him on teh fence in return. Knee to the body lands. More knees, Moret looks for an outside trip in return. They trade elbows on the break a minute in. Leg kick from Moret, who walks into a right hand and finds himself in a guillotine. White cranking hard, switching grips. He loses it and changes levels. Two minutes in. White still grinding. Moret gets an underhook and reverses. White reverses again and they separate. Combination lands upstairs. They trade rights. Two minutes to go.

White stuffs a takedown and lands a right. Moret leg kick. Check hook by White. Straight left and Moret responds with a takedown attempt. Moret separates with an elbow. One minute to go. They slug it out near the fence. White with a straight left, tries to spin and they trade bombs in the center. White catches Moret coming in with a heavy combination. 10-9 White.

Round 3: White lands right hands as Moret shoots. Double underhooks for White. Knee to the body and he reverses position. Single-leg gets Moret down, Moret pops back up. One minute in. Hard two-piece on the break. Moret tries a flying knee and shoots. He’s grabbing the fence a ton. Two minutes in. Moret goes for a high-crotch, denied. Short elbow and knee by White. He looks for a takedown. Two minutes to go.

He gets Moret to the mat. Moret gets back to his feet. White lands a knee, which allows Moret to reverse position. Jockeying for position on the fence. White hits the switch and lands some elbows. White blasts him with counters and they trade bombs until the bell. 10-9 White.

Final result: White def. Moret by unanimous decision
