Someone call Colonel Braddock because UFC welterweights Stephen Thompson and Michael Chiesa are now missing in action. That’s according to No. 10-ranked Neil Magny, who will instead turn his attention to red-hot prospect Khamzat Chimaev.

“I would love to fight one more time this year,” Magny told Ariel Helwani. “Ideally a fight against Chiesa or Wonderboy makes the most sense, but those guys are MIA. So taking on the biggest prospect is the next best option.”

Chimaev (9-0) is already 3-0 inside the Octagon and was expected to score a welterweight showdown against former middleweight title contender Demian Maia; however, that fight fell apart for undisclosed reasons.

As for Magny (24-7), the “Haitian Sensation” is the winner of three straight and five of his last six, including last August’s unanimous decision victory over former welterweight champion “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler.

“Ranked fighters won’t fight other ranked fighters, unranked fighters only want to fight fighters ranked in the Top 5,” Magny wrote on social media. “Crazy times at the UFC.”

Sorry Neil, but “crazy stuff” is how you get ahead in this sport.
