Two 135 lb. prospects with only one loss each met on the main card of Bellator 254!
Bellator 254 “Macfarlane vs. Velasquez” took place December 10, 2020 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The main event featured two undefeated Flyweights as champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane (11-0) sought to defend her crown against Juliana Velasquez (10-0) in a bout scheduled for five rounds.
The main event did indeed go the entire allotted amount of time, but so too did a Bantamweight bout between Magomed Magomedov (16-1) and Matheus Mattos (12-1-1). The division recently got a new champion at Bellator 246, leaving the door wide open for a hungry prospect to hurriedly propel themselves up the hallowed pecking order at 135.
