With Strikeforce finally coming to terms with their Female Featherweight champion, Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Santos (10-1), her manager has come out to say that she is now “the highest paid female athlete in the world.”

Speaking to Tatame.com, manager Rudimar Fedrigo talked about the year-long negotiations between his fighter and Strikeforce, also revealing that Santos had signed a four-bout agreement.

Fedrigo did not though, go into specifics of the financial agreement between Santos and Strikeforce/Zuffa.

“The negotiation is concluded successfully. A proposal has been made, after a long time of arguing, and it was accepted. Cris signed her new contract and now she’s waiting to be called back for her next fight”, explains Rudimar. “Cris ain’t just another athlete… Besides being the champion, she’s the highest paid female athlete in the world. The negotiation lasted for like a year, but now it’s all set… ”

“She’s motivated, she’s been watching closely her husband’s trainings… She’s ready to go, she’s just waiting to be called in”.

Santos will apparently return to the cage late this year against an unnamed opponent.
