My cup mouth runneth over.

Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao found himself in hot water this week after suggesting homosexuals were worse than animals. But “Pac Man” insists he’s not homophobic and does not condemn the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community.

He’s simply following the word of god, according to his apology on social media (transcribed by Bloody Elbow):

“I’m sorry for hurting people by comparing homosexuals to animals. Please forgive me for those I’ve hurt. I still stand on my belief that I’m against same-sex marriage because of what the Bible says, but I’m not condemning LGBT. I love you all with the love of the Lord. God Bless you all and I’m praying for you.”

Let us pray:

Amen.

Pacquiao — no stranger to headlines outside the squared circle — is expected to retire after his final fight, which comes in the form of a rubber match opposite Timothy Bradley on Sat., April 9, 2016 inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
