George Sullivan has a new opponent for his upcoming UFC bout.
With Marcio Alexandre Jr. out of the TUF 21 Finale card with an injury, Sullivan now faces promotional newcomer Dominic Waters. The matchup was first reported by Fox Sports.
Alexandre Jr. told MMAFighting.com he suffered a rib injury in training a week ago and tried to fight anyway, but the injury got worse on Friday.
Sullivan (16-4) looks to rebound following a loss to Tim Means in April, snapping an eight-fight winning streak. Prior to the loss, the Pellegrino MMA product scored a vicious knockout over Igor Araujo in Brazil.
Waters (9-2) enters the UFC after winning three in a row, including wins under the RFA and WSOF banners. “Sho Nuff” competed at the 16th season of The Ultimate Fighter, going 1-1 on the reality show.
Headlined by Jake Ellenberger vs. Stephen Thompson, The Ultimate Fighter 21 Finale takes place July 12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
