A featherweight match-up pitting TUF 14 alum Marcus Brimage (6-1) against promotional newcomer Conor McGregor (12-2) has been scheduled for the fight card of UFC on FUEL 9, which takes place April 6, 2013 at Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. UFC officials confirmed the bout on Thursday.

Brimage, 27, rebounded from an early loss to Bryan Caraway in the TUF 14 quarterfinals to roll off a string of upset victories inside the Octagon. “The Bama Beast” outpointed Stephen Bass, Maximo Blanco and Jimy Hettes in succession, pushing his current win streak to four straight.

Across the cage, McGregor, 24, makes his UFC debut after blazing through a perfect 8-0 record since 2011, culminating in a pair of title-winning performances. McGregor defeated Dave Hill via second-round rear-naked choke to be crowned Cage Warriors featherweight champion in early June, before moving up a division and thunderously knocking out Ivan Buchinger to sieze the promotion’s lightweight strap on New Year’s Eve. All 12 of the Irishman’s victories have come by way of stoppage.

UFC on FUEL 9 is headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Alexander Gustafsson and former Strikeforce champion Gegard Mousasi.
