After Yahoo Sports‘s Kevin Iole reported on Thursday that Mark Hunt still had 19 pounds to cut before Friday’s UFC Fight Night 52 weigh-ins, there was fear that he would become the first heavyweight in modern UFC history to miss weight. However, Hunt told MMAFighting.com shortly thereafter that he was confident he wouldn’t have any issues.

Earlier in the afternoon Hunt said, “I’m good. I’m only a few kilos off now.” Less than two hours later he then said, “I am on weight right now, I think.”

FightMetric, the official stats provider of the UFC, says they have no record of a heavyweight missing weight prior to a UFC fight. The heavyweight limit is 266 pounds.

The UFC Fight Night 52 weigh-ins are scheduled for 3:00 a.m. ET Friday morning in Saitama, Japan. Hunt meets Roy Nelson in the main event on UFC Fight Pass.
