A middleweight bout between Mark ‘The Filipino Wrecking Machine’ Muñoz (12-3) and Tim ‘The Barbarian’ Boetsch (15-6) was announced by UFC officials for the recently announced UFC 162 event.

Also confirmed for the July event were previously identified bouts including the headliner between UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva (33-4) vs. Chris Weidman (9-0), another middleweight bout featuring Roger Gracie (6-1) vs. Tim Kennedy (15-4), as well as light heavyweight bout between Rafael ‘Feijao’ Cavalcante (11-3) vs. Thiago Silva (14-3).

UFC 162: Silva vs. Weidman is expected to take place on July 6, 2013 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

All of the bouts was made official with today’s announcement at UFC.com.

Muñoz hasn’t been in action since this past July when he was KO’d by Weidman in San Jose at the UFC on FUEL TV 4 event. The loss ended a four fight win streak which saw ‘The Filipino Wrecking Machine’ pick up wins against Chris Leben at UFC 138, Demian Maia at UFC 131, CB Dolloway at UFC on Versus 3, and Aaron Simpson at UFC 123.

Boetsch also enters the match on a defeat following a loss to Costa Philippou last December at UFC 155. Like his upcoming opponent, Boetsch had earned four straight wins defeating Hector Lombard at UFC 149, Yushin Okami at UFC 144, Nick Ring at UFC 135 and Kendall Grove at UFC 130.
