Hot off of his scintillating knockout win over Darren Till earlier this month at UFC London, welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal is looking to give Conor McGregor a “three-piece combo” this summer in Ireland.
Remember, “Gamebred” gave Leon Edwards the same “three-piece combo” backstage after the conclusion of UFC London following some trash talk between the two welterweights. Masvidal stepped to Edwards and ended up cutting “Rocky” below the eye.
With his return to the Octagon in the bag and a huge knockout win over Till to add to his already impressive highlight reel, Masvidal is hoping to parlay his recent success into a McGregor payday. “Gamebred” recently took to Twitter to goad “Notorious” into a showdown this summer on Irish soil.

It’s a tempting offer for McGregor given Masvidal’s striking prowess and trash-talking abilities, but the former UFC champion is likely to dodge any sort of Octagon encounter with “Gamebred.” At the end of the day, McGregor simply has bigger fish to fry at lightweight, like Khabib Nurmagomedov, Nate Diaz, Donald Cerrone, and the winner of Max Holloway vs. Dustin Poirier.
That said, a bout between “Notorious” and Masvidal would be quite spectacular, especially if it happened to go down on Irish soil. Even UFC women’s bantamweight and featherweight champion Amanda Nunes wants in on the McGregor vs. Masvidal card.

Until McGregor actually schedules his awaited return to the Octagon sometime later this year, fighters like Masvidal will continue to throw their hat into the ring for a shot at Mystic Mac.
