Jorge Masvidal drilled that flying knee over and over.
Jorge Masvidal sprinting out and setting the record for fastest UFC knockout ever wasn’t a fluke. A previous text from his coach showed that was always their plan. Now they’ve also released footage of the welterweight contender repeatedly drilling the now infamous rushing flying knee that knocked out Ben Askren in just five seconds.

Masvidal also explained his game plan coming into the match up, saying that he knew if he rushed in with that knee, there’s a good chance Askren would just duck for a takedown.
“He’s so predictable, man,” Masvidal said at the post-fight press conference.
“A part of me wanted to just throw it out there, so he knew like if you do shoot like an idiot — like you only know how to — your head’s gonna get clipped,” he said. “I would put the brakes on him, and then beat him up for 14 minutes and 30 seconds, then execute him.
“Or you know, he took the bait. I put my hands behind my back. He probably thought we were gonna f—king pattycake it up or something. I don’t know, but he walked right into it.”

“He fell for the bait so hard. I could just see how eager he was just to come forward. So I put my hands behind my back and let him think ‘come eat.’ He didn’t know it was going to be a buffet though. He thought it was gonna be a three-piece, now you’re getting the whole f—king MGM Grand buffet to the face man.”
Masvidal, who is full with terrific sound bites as of late, also referenced this on a tweet about Askren dissing his three-piece and a soda line.
