Jorge Masvidal would gladly welcome Georges St-Pierre back to the octagon, with hopes of breaking his face in the process.

Jorge Masvidal says as much as he respects Georges St-Pierre, if the two did ever meet in the octagon he would put everything into his soul to beat the former longtime welterweight champ.

St-Pierre hasn’t fought since winning the UFC middleweight title against Michael Bisping in November 2017. That fight was the Canadian’s first after a four-year layoff. Since then his name has popped up now and again regarding a possible return to the sport, but nothing has ever materialised.

Talking recently to Submission Radio, Masvidal said he wouldn’t mind ‘resurrecting’ St-Pierre, only to force him into retirement again.

“Well, they’ve said this about me, that I resurrect fighters and then I retire them again. So, I wouldn’t mind if GSP jumped on that campaign,” Masvidal said. “In all honestly, as a competitor, I want to f—king break his face. I want to go out there and give him everything I got. But I respect the time what he’s done.

“He took I don’t know how many years off, came back, beat Bisping for the legitimate middleweight title. Dude’s a stud. He’s a f—king animal, bro. I would put everything into my being, into my soul, to end this individual, because he’s that good.”

Masvidal had a resurgence in 2019, winning three fights all by knockout. Starting with a KO of Darren Till in London early in the year, he broke the record for the fastest knockout in UFC history when he finished Ben Askren in 5-seconds in July. ‘Gamebred’ then won the ‘BMF’ belt against Nate Diaz in November. He continued by saying how much he would love a fight with ‘GSP.’

“He’s the type of fighter, this s—t would require a nice training camp, isolation away from the world and just focus on the task, just day in and day out, cause he’s a hell of competitor, and I’m not taking a back seat to nobody in this division. So, I would love it.”
