More bout announcements are pouring in for the unannounced UFC Fight for the Troops 2 event, which is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 22nd in Fort Hood, Texas. The event is expected to be broadcast live on Spike TV.
UFC heavyweight and “TUF” season 10 alumni Matt Mitrione (3-0) will step into the octagon to face Canadian Tim Hague (12-4) on the card.
The bout was confirmed by MMAFighting.com late Sunday night.
Mitrione earned a “Fight of the Night” award in his UFC 119 bout with Joey Beltran in September. The former NFL player earned a unanimous decision to remain undefeated. His other two professional fights would see him defeat two fellow “TUF 10″ cast members in Kimbo Slice, via TKO at UFC 113, and Marcus Jones, via KO at the “TUF: Heavyweights Finale.”
Hague returns to the UFC after winning two straight first round KO victories with the Canadian promotion Aggression MMA. With the UFC Hague was 1-3, dropping three straight after defeating Pat Barry at UFC 98. He was KO’d by Todd Duffee at UFC 102 in just seven seconds, then would go on to lose to Chris Tuchscherer at UFC 109 and Joey Beltran at UFC 113.
