The legend of Max Holloway just keeps on growing, as the current Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight champion keeps displaying that he is indeed of one the good guys in mixed martial arts (MMA).

After suffering a unanimous decision loss to Dustin Poirier after five rounds of action at last Saturday night’s (April 13, 2019) UFC 236 pay-per-view (PPV) event in Atlanta, GA., “Blessed” proceeded to donate his signed fight worn gloves to Poirier’s amazing “Good Fight” foundation.

Check it out:

The gloves will be auctioned off this Wednesday (April 17, 2019) through the foundation’s social media account. The funds raised from the auction — which will also include of all of Poirier’s fight worn gear — will be used to help build a playground in Dustin’s hometown of Lafayette, LA.

According to MMA Junkie, efforts for the playground were inspired in memory of Aaron Hill, a seven-year old student who passed away due to the ALD, a rare genetic neurological disease, who longed for a playground for special needs students in his school.

Indeed, in a day where some rivalries seem to go overboard, it’s refreshing to see two gentleman of the combat world use their platform to unite together for a great cause. Perhaps Holloway was onto something with this suggestion.
